Rock singer leaves concert after fans rush stage. The show did not go on.

After a bunch of fans rushed the stage at a Morrissey concert, the singer left and did not return.
It happened Saturday, Nov. 2 at Fair Park Music Hall in Dallas, Texas.
The English rockstar was singing his 2004 song “First of the Gang to Die” during an encore when a fan got onstage and attempted to hug Morrissey.
Though security intervened, other fans also managed to break through, one by one, and Morrissey was escorted off the stage as the audience booed.
Video of the incident (see below) shows a member of the security staff, who was apparently hurt in the scuffle, limping off the stage.
Morrissey is scheduled to play NJPAC in Newark Nov. 13 and Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City Nov. 15.
While Morrissey, 65, shared photos on Instagram from the Dallas show (post below), he did not mention what happened.
Before the fans jumped on stage, the singer had addressed the crowd prior to the song.
“I am indebted to you and with my hopeless heart I thank you with all of my life, with all of my soul,” he said. “I’m very grateful.”
Steven Patrick Morrissey performed with Johnny Marr in The Smiths in the ’80s before going solo after the band broke up in 1987. The Smiths released four studio albums and Morrissey has released 13.
The singer has been known to leave a stage or three, for various reasons.
Billboard points out that fans rushed the stage at a Morrissey concert in 2014 in San Jose, California, ending the show early when the singer was knocked down.
Another time the same year, a show ended less than a half-hour into the set in Warsaw, Poland due to a heckler.
Morrissey, who is vegan, also exited the Coachella stage in 2009 and did not come back after he smelled meat from vendors.
In 2017, he left a show in Arizona early because of problems with his voice, and in 2022, he didn’t give a reason for departing an LA show less than an hour in.
